Learning Objectives
Develop a sound knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of airway management in the ICU
- Concept of physiologically and anatomically difficult airways
- Pre-oxygenation and apneic oxygenation during tracheal intubation
- Devices, tools, and techniques to optimize for tracheal intubation, including airway ultrasound
- Rescue Ventilation and emergency surgical airway for failed intubation
- Case-Based Discussion and skill stations on special situations and procedures, including bronchoscopy and percutaneous tracheostomy
