Welcome Message from President

I pen down this message as the organising chairperson of Criticare 2026 to be held in Chennai from 25 February to 1 March. While doing so, I feel a sense of responsibility and onus to deliver an appealing, scientifically robust and intellectually fulfilling Congress. Preceding Congresses have set the bench mark very high. The organising team of Criticare 2026, will leave no stone unturned in meeting the expectations of all the stake holders.

The last few years have seen heightened interest in big data and its analysis. The face of evidence based medicine seems to be acquiring a data driven complexion. This however should not imply a departure from personalised approach to patient care, while retaining the human touch of medical profession. The theme, therefore, for Criticare 2026 is "Humanisation in the era of data Science". I am sure we will see enlightening deliberations on this theme at Chennai.

The workshops have always been in great demand at Criticare. This year we have included a workshop on Simulated learning. The Data Science and Paper writing workshops will be continued in the hands of the best guides.

The organising team has taken cognisance of the rising costs of attending conferences. Feedback from Students, delegates and our past presidents has been acted upon and the registration fees have seen a down marking this year. We have also initiated and facilitated a system of bulk registrations by the various branches at a significant discount. This system will remain valid till the end of 2025.

The vibrant city of Chennai is well connected and is a hub of excellence, in Critical Care. The Culture, the Cuisine, the Academics and the Enthusiasm of the organising team and the Executive Committee of ISCCM promises a heady mix of ingredients for a successful meeting. Please join us at Criticare 2026- Chennai in celebrating the vibrancy and dynamism of the specialty of Critical Care
